L and S Contracting, experienced interior fit out contractors, complete works within 6 new build Schools linked to a Government PFI Project. All works were completed to a very high standard, completed on time and within budget. With our client's recommendation, we continued to work for the Head Teachers of several Schools on extra works including, pin boards, notice boards and shelving.

Approximately 70% of our turnover consists of Schools, whether new build or refurbishment. Our client base consists of Leeds City Council, Local Education Architects, Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd, Morrison Construction Ltd to name but a few. ""L & S Contracting Ltd were responsible for the general joinery sub-contract for our new offices and the internal fit out. The joinery contract for the building was unusually high as the majority of external walls are timber framed with a Douglas Fir rain screen cladding as well as timber framed windows and sliding shutters. L & S evident performance on this sub-contract gave us confidence to invite them to tender for the 16 built-in purpose made workstations and Reception desk. Their part was successful and the contract completed within time and budget. There was a number of details to which L & S contributed their expertise and practicality. L & S Contracting Ltd were a key team member in the successful completion of the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. L & S Contracting Ltd won the opportunity to negotiate the work based on a competitive first stage tender and their performance with Interserve on previous projects. The £20 million national indoor sports facility will provide Sheffield with the grounding to excel in sporting excellence. L & S completed 1200 m2 of external timber cladding and 500 m2 of internal wall linings, with an order value approaching £750,000.00. The programme was challenging and the detailing demanded a high quality approach to the installation.

A privately owned AA 4 red star hotel, 2 AA rosette clock tower restaurant and 18 hole parkland golf course. The project included a 53 bedroom extension, new cinema, gymnasium, glazed link to the existing hotel, new spa and treatment rooms. A new £34 million police station that will become the nerve centre of operations in Leeds. The facility at Elland Road opposite Leeds United’s ground will be home to more than 1,100 staff. The new divisional police headquarters comprising offices, storage areas, custody suite containing 40 cells designed to stop prisoner suicides, multi level car park and secure yard area It houses detectives from CID, neighbourhood police, the district command centre and officers responding to 999 calls. L & S were pleased to supply the complete internal & external timber Door sets including Ironmongery package to this state of the art building including. American white oak veneered doors were chosen within the HQ with doors up to 2.7m in height, achieving up to 42dB rating and complimented with brushed stainless steel ironmongery, all covered with our unrivalled 25 year guarantee to meet the requirements of facilities management service program. Within the custody suite we provided a sever duty rated door sets specially designed for the environment including anti barricade removable stops and electronic locking systems, hardwood tri laminated core doors and vandal resistant Ironmongery. A remarkable building and project for L & S Contracting Ltd to be involved in.

L & S | Student Accommodation

Information:

The contract consisted of 369 student bedrooms each with its own ensuite & kitchen. The look & feel of the student rooms are akin to high quality hotel bedrooms. Ensuite bathroom pods were used to provide an extremely high standard of finish in these areas, while condensing the finishing programme on site. The oriel windows and cedar cladding gave a unique fasade to a truly remarkable building. A unique project for L & S Contracting Ltd to be involved in on a stunning 66 metre high, 22 storey elliptical tower.
